Things to Know About Shipping Options

Posted by E.C. on Aug 15th 2019

In late June we rolled out the USPS First Class Mail shipping option. Since then we’ve had hundreds of orders ship via this method without issue, so now we can “announce” the availability of this option. Throughout this post I’ll provide information to assist you in making an appropriate decision when selecting your shipping method.

Things to Consider:

During holidays and other peak times order processing can exceed 1-2 business days. We are closed during weekends and orders placed during these times will be processed the next business day. There are certain holidays we are open, but USPS isn’t (ie. Columbus Day) which means if you place an order around these particular holidays your shipping date will be delayed due to USPS observing the holiday. Sometimes weather and/or natural disasters can impact delivery times.

Hopefully this information will help you make the decision that works best for you.

Facts about USPS First Class Mail:

  • When selecting this method, you need to expect shipping to take at least 5-10+ days to reach you. If you need your item(s) quickly, this isn’t the option for you. We do our best to process orders within 1-2 business days and once your order departs our facility USPS may take their time delivering your package.
  • These shipments are insured and provide a tracking number.
  • There is a weight restriction which means not all orders are eligible for First Class. The weight limit has to include the weight of the product(s), order paperwork, and shipping envelope. If your order doesn’t offer the USPS First Class shipping option at checkout…it is over the weight limit and not eligible. Some products are not eligible for first class because they require a box for shipping. We don’t make these rules, but we need to follow them to ensure customers receive their package.

Facts about USPS Priority Mail:

  • USPS Priority Mail offers delivery in 2-3 days. If the 5-10+ days for USPS to deliver your package via First Class is too long, this might be the option for you. Again, our processing time will take at least 1-2 business days and once the package departs our facility it is up to USPS to deliver within the 2-3 days.
  • These shipments are insured and provide a tracking number.
  • Unlike First Class, USPS Priority doesn’t have a weight limit. If it fits, it ships.
  • USPS Priority is more expensive, but delivery is on the faster schedule (less than 5 days).

Facts about UPS:

  • UPS offers Ground up to Next Day Air shipping. It would be safe to bet that Ground could be a 7+ day delivery window.
  • You’ll pay more for UPS, especially if you need to ship Next Day Air or Second Day Air
  • Please keep in mind that just because you selected an expedited shipping method doesn’t mean your package will leave that same day. Order processing time of 1-2 business days will need to be factored in as well.
