With each new Glock® model, Larry Vickers is the first to cast a cold, hard stare of reality on its intended mission and customer base. After extended range sessions, few things stood out for improvement, but one thing was clear: the slide was difficult to grasp and cycle under normal circumstances, let alone high-stress ‘events’.
The small slide, shallow finger purchase cuts and stout recoil spring assembly make for tough initial chambering, especially for women or anyone with less than optimal finger/hand strength. Outside of an expensive trip to a machine shop or gunsmith to make the slide purchase cuts deeper, there was no fix. Until the TD design team got the call.
The GSR-01 is a top quality drop-in part that solves the issue cold. Injection molded of glass-reinforced nylon with stainless steel reinforcement just like the OEM part, it replaces the striker retention plate in minutes with no other modification to the sidearm. Once in place, the GSR-01 offers easy, effortless and positive slide cycling under any condition.

Slide Racker for Glock 42
This makes it easy to rack the slide like it is supposed to do. The fit is a little large and clunky on the G42. Not trim and fit like on the G48. It's actually larger than the one for the 43/48. Kinda looks funny but does the job.

Loose fit, but a definite improvement.
Not as tight of a fit as Glock’s, but she says it’s a BIG improvement. She’s not nearly as nervous about needing to rack on the fly. Still needs a test run at the range.

Great assist
Put this on my wife’s 42 as she has a difficult time racking the slide because of arthritis. This little addition makes a huge difference.

definitely adds grip resistance area to ensure a good hold. Will be beneficial for those with weaker grip strength.

Tactical Slide Racker
Purchased this item, among other for my girlfriends new Glock 42. She loves it and likes the extra gripping surface. Also helps administratively to lock open the slide, etc
